My thoughts

Narrative and Plot

.

You and Me on Vacation is your perfect summer vacation read. The story follows the two main characters – Alex and Poppy. It takes you through a journey of friendship spanning over a decade while relating the current predicament of their relationship. The narrative is light and witty. It has the holiday energy which the world has been longing for since 2020.

Characters and Conflicts

Alex and Poppy are polar opposites in a lot of ways yet, they share the same spirit and complement each other when they’re together. It is that aspect, which makes you root for the main characters.

The undeniable chemistry between the main characters make this a compelling read. However, the miscommunication is a tad bit stretched towards the end. Not that, it takes away anything from the story. If anything, the conflict reminded me of a Bollywood movie with a cult following, Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani. It was kind of a different perspective where instead of Bunny and Naina, the central love story is between Avi and Aditi.

Conclusion

Overall, You and Me on Vacation is a fun summer read which will enrich you with a decade worth travel experience combined with a sweet romance.
