Seven Netlfix movies to watch this Christmas

Dear Bookbugs,

Day 14 of Blogmas 2018 is here and now is the time to start watching all those Christmas movies to get into the holiday mood. Netflix notifications are filled with Christmas themed movies these days, and here is my pick for the holidays :

  • The Christmas Chronicles

Kate and Teddy Pierce hatch up a plan to “catch Santa on cam” this Christmas season. This childish plan lands them into an adventure of a lifetime. Enjoy this Christmas movie with Kurt Russell playing Santa Claus!! Can’t wait to watch this one.

  • The Holiday Calendar

Holidays are all about magical stories and fairy tales. It brings joy to everyone, I believe.  A struggling photographer gets an antique holiday calendar as a Christmas gift. And adding a bit of mystic element to it, the calendar can actually predict the future. Will this calendar bring her the happily ever after? I haven’t seen this movie yet but the trailer seems exciting.

  • A Christmas prince and A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding

I watched both these movies. A Christmas prince last year and The Royal Wedding this year. Even though it has that fairy tale touch to it, I love how this movie actually portrays strong characters. Especially Amber who is assertive and smart. It might be your clichéd fairy tale plot but has a heart to it. And it is perfect to binge watch as it comes with a sequel!!

  • The Princess Switch

As soon as I saw the trailer I was reminded of the movie Monte Carlo and the two extremely different Selena Gomez!! Basically, it is almost the same plot, a Chicago baker bumps into the Duchess who is the fiancé to a prince and also her doppelganger. Now, these two exchange lives for two days but if only things were that simple. Now even with a familiar plot, I would still recommend watching this. With Vanessa Hudgens genuinely warm smile and the goodie-goodie trailer, it would make up for a pleasant Christmas movie.

  • Angela’s Christmas

This is a short film inspired by a children’s illustration book “Angela and Baby Jesus” by Frank Mc Court. Now, this won’t be your typical “find your true love this Christmas” Holiday movie. Instead, this is the story of a little girl who wants to tuck in a baby Jesus warm and safe at the comforts of her small home on the Christmas eve. You should really watch the trailer to see why I’m recommending this.

  • Christmas Inheritance

Ellen Langford is all ready and set to take on her father’s gift business. But, for some reason her father wants her to personally deliver a Christmas card to his former partner and friend in their hometown Snow Falls. Ellen sets out for this task but gets stuck in the snowstorm and extends her stay at her hometown. It is here she learns the true meaning of Christmas and finds love. So, that is the entire story of the movie but don’t you still want to watch how this plays out? I know I do.

  • A Wish for Christmas

Like I said before, I love the idea of a magical Christmas and this one is another addition to that kind of story. When her big Christmas plan is sabotaged at her office, Sara Thomas wishes to find the courage to stand up for herself. Now our tricky Santa gives her forty-eight hours of magic and it is in this timeline Sarah learns to actually stand up for herself. I am definitely sold for this idea and can’t wait to see the whole movie.
