Bookbugworld’s November Book Haul | 2020

Dear Bookbugs,

This November, I am sharing the books I have acquired around the last week of October. Now, I really wish to read most of them for November but I already have a lot of books in my TBR at the moment. Which is why I thought of sharing all these books in case you wanted to pick it up for the month.

1) One Winter’s Night by Kiley Dunbar

One Winter’s Night is the second book in the Kelsey Anderson series. The first book is One Summer’s Night which I haven’t read but I still requested for this NetGalley e-Arc. The author assures us, right in the beginning that this can be read as a standalone and even brings us up to speed by giving a brief summary of the first book. So, I am hopeful. This is the time of the year when I love to read those cozy winter romances. And I did read Christmas At Frozen Falls by Kiley Dunbar last year and enjoyed it a lot. I am really hoping to get into the whole winter spirit ( even if there is no winter where I live!) through this book. Hey! People who don’t have winter need to vicariously live through these cozy books.

2) One Snowy Week in Springhollow by Lucy Knott

Full disclosure, I was on a binge watching spree in October and what could be a better fall show than Gilmore Girls. Which is why I was curious about the similarity in the name of the towns and requested the NetGalley e-Arc right away. Stars Hollow and Springhollow seems quite close enough. Besides, this is a second chance romance which is again something in line with Gilmore Girls. We follow Scarlett who thinks her best friend Denver would be in her life forever. But then, he moves to NYC for a better life without warning. Ten years later, Scarlett is still living in the small town. Meanwhile, Denver is a Hollywood hearthrob. Naturally, it is a holiday romance and I am hoping to be charmed by this small town of Springhollow.

3) Christmas At Fireside Cabins by Jenny Hale

This is, again, a NetGalley e-Arc that I will probably save up for #tistheseasonathon. It kind of satisfies three challenges at the very least. I cherish this idea of reading cozy Christmas books all the year and it just brings me joy even if I don’t celebrate Christmas. Usually I try to get into the holiday spirit by watching Christmas movies and reading holiday books. In this book, we follow Lila Evans who always finds the holidays a bit hard because she lost her father around this time. This year, Lila plans a getaway at this holiday resort called Fireside Cabins in this small town called Pinewood Hills. So this is one of those new beginnings kind of book with holiday spirit. It might be cliched but I love the concept anyway.

4) The Cousins by Karen M McManus

That was a lot of happy books lined up. Just to mix it up, here is the book that I received for the UltimateBlogTour by TheWriteReads in November. I really wanted to read One of Us is Lying before reading this one. But I don’t have the time for that.

Three cousins who really don’t know each other that well, receive a letter from their grandmother who wants them all to work on her island resort for the summer. Since their grandmother had disinherited their parents before they were even born, all the three cousins are forced to accept this invitation as their parents want to get back in the good books of their grandmother.

Mysterious family in an island set up – equates to the prefect thriller set up as far as I am concerned. Can’t wait to start this one!

There we go. Those are all the books that I plan to read before the year ends.
