My Thursday Reading Snapshot

Dear Bookbugs,

I have been blogging less these days. All I can say is that life happens, and sometimes you just cannot find the will to sit in front of a laptop. Anyway, today I just felt like sharing my reading life with you.

In this Thursday Reading Snapshot, I will be sharing my current read, what I finished recently, and what is next on my book stack.

My Current Reads

Currently, I am switching between two books. The first one is The Last Unicorn by Peter S Beagle for my book club.

As the title suggests, The Last Unicorn follows the journey of the literal last known unicorn, who lived a carefree life until she learned that her kind no longer existed, or so the world said. She sets out to find her kind, and along the way she experiences her own adventures and awakenings as she sees more of the world.

The next book that I am reading simultaneously is Sounds Like Love by Ashley Poston. I had DNFed this one a couple of months ago, but now that I have powered through a few more pages, I am actually interested in the story again.

Sounds Like Love follows two musicians who can hear each other’s voices in their heads. They believe that, in order to get out of each other’s heads, they must finish the melody that both of them keep hearing in their minds.

What I Finished Recently

The last book I read was My Husband’s Wife by Alice Feeney. We follow a woman who goes for a run, and when she returns, she finds her door locked. Then another woman opens the door, and she looks eerily like her.

I was completely sold on the premise, and the book turned out to be a fun read. There were some dramatic twists and turns, but it kept me turning the pages, and honestly, that is all I want from a thriller.

What Is Next on My Book stack

The next book is one of my most anticipated reads of the year. I read When the Moon Hatched in 2024 and could not wait for the sequel. It is finally here, and I cannot wait to begin.

The Ballad of Falling Dragons begins where the previous book left off. I am hoping that the politics, mystery, and the love story will all be worth the wait.

So that is my Thursday Reading Snapshot. I hope you enjoyed this little snippet of my reading life. Let me know which books are currently sitting on your nightstand in the comments. I would love to hear from you.

Happy Reading Everyone!
